recommended tours (by bus) :

from Sortland

Tour 1 : Sortland - Nyksund (Stø)
From 4 hours: We will visit the village Nyksund and learn about Vesteråles coast-culture. The guests will have two hours in Nyksund to walk around (also guided) or to eat in one of the restaurantes. Lunsh-menu can be ordered. For an additional 90 min. is it possible also to have a stopp at the living fishingvillage Stø.

Tour 2 : Sortland - Bø
From 4 hours. Visit the most eastern kommune of Vesterålen. Stop at the skulpture "the man from the sea" and the Bø-museum. Also other short walks are possible. Pass by Ringstad and join the view to the Lofoten while you are eating your lunsh.

Tour 3 : Sortland - Eidsfjord
From 4 hours. The bus will take you around Langøya, the main island of Vesterålen. You will see the differenc between the west- and the east coast and the live in the fjords. Have a stop in Stokmarknes and take your lunsh before you are going back to the ship. For an additional hour is it possible to visit Jennestad, an old tradeingplace.

Tour 4 : Sortland - Stokmarknes (Hurtigruten museum)
From 2,5 hours. Also in combination with TOUR 3 possible. Visit our Hurtigruten museum and learn about the history of Richard With and his company.

Tour 5 : Sortland - Hadsel (Hurtigruten museum, "The Norwegian Fishing Industry Museum")
From 4 hours. Go to visit the Hurtigruten museum in Stokmarknes, drive around Hadseløya with some nice photostops and have a stop at the "The Norwegian Fishing Industry Museum" It is possible to have a concert here.

Tour 6 : Sortland - Blokken
From 4 hours. We will go by bus from Sortland to Blokken to visit "Aquaculture in Vesterålen".The center tells the history of aquaculture in Vesterålen, and gives you an introduction to the modern industry of fish farming today.

Tour 1 : Stokmarknes - Nyksund (Stø)
The same as from Sortland, just one hour longer

Tour 2 : Stokmarknes - Bø
The same as from Sortland, just one hour longer

Tour 3 : Stokmarknes - Eidsfjord
The same as from Sortland, just with start in Stokmarknes

Tour 4 : Stokmarknes - Hadsel (Hurtigrutens hus, Fiskerimuseum)
Take a roundtour around Hadselisland and visit the Fishingmuseum (perhaps with a concert) and the Hurtigrutenmuseum in Stokmarknes.

Tour 5 : Stokmarknes - Blokken (AIV)
The same as from Sortland, just one hour longer

Nature events
(calculated from Sortland. From Stokmarknes the trips will be ca 80 min. longer)

Tour 1 : Inga Sámi Siida
From 4 hours. Visit a samish reindeer farm. Learn about reindeer farming and get a samish lunsh time.

Tour 2 : Walking in Sortland Vestmarka
From 4 hours. 5 min Bustour to "lysløypa i Vestmarka". Here we will go for a 30 min walk where we learn about the birds we hear. We will have a stop and make our own fire and cook a coffee and eat som tratitional dried fish and reindeer. On the way back it is possible to visit the Sortland church and have a short consert here.

Tour 3 : Kajaking
From 3 hours. Kajaktour for newbeginners in the Sortlandsund with having a fire and grilling.

Tour 4 : RIB-tour
Eagel- and Fotosafary with a RIB. Warm fishsoup at Ringstad Sjøhus. (up to 36 guests)


Transfaire

Transfaire 1 : Svolvær - Stokmarknes
From 6 hours. We like to pick up your guests in Svolvær and take them on the tour to Vesterålen via LOFAST. We will have a stop in Sortland for lunsh and visit the museum in Stokmarknes while we are waiting of the arrivel of your ship.

Transfaire 2 : Sortland - Andenes
From 3 hours. We go by bus from Sortland (Stokmarknes)to Andernes to join the ship again. On the way it is possible to have walks in the nature or to visit Inga Sami Siida and have lunsh on the way.

Guiding 1 : Nyksundguiding
From 1 hour. We will guide you through Nyksund, an old fishingvillage whitch showes a lot of the old live in Nyksund. Today there are no fishermen left, but it is possible to have lunsh in an old original fishfactory. (Guided by Discover Vesterålen)

Guiding 2 : Dronningruta (Queensway)
The Droningruta is the walkingtrail between Nyksund and Stø. We will go one way, eather from Stø to Nyksund or from Nyksund to Stø. Here we will learn about Vesterålens history. The way back we will go by a RIB to have a good view of the coastline of Vesterålen. (Guided by Discover Vesterålen)
